SerpBook vs. AccuRanker

If youre a webmaster or into SEO, you need a Search Engine Ranking Service.

Quite simply, these services track where your sites are in the search engine rankings. You must have one of these if youre serious about what you are doing online, whether you own a blog or website, especially if you have multiple sites.

These services provide you with an accurate look at where you are ranking in Google, Yahoo! and Bing everyday, sometimes hourly. This is critical to monitoring the status of your site.

Since SerpBook and AccuRanker are the two major search engine tracking services, Ive decided to break this review down into two parts.

REVIEW OF ACCURANKER

Pros:

  • Very accurate (surprise)!
  • Focused on Google (does not track Yahoo! or Bing)
  • Extra resources to connect to Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools
  • Extremely accurate real-time updating.
  • Extra features to track region and country rankings.
  • Very sophisticated and easy to view interface.
  • Low price! Cheap plan is $4.95
  • Offers cheaper plans and more keywords to search than SerpBook.

Cons:

  • No Yahoo! or Bing tracking.

REVIEW OF SERPBOOK:

Pros:

  • Very nice interface.
  • Tracks Yahoo! and Bing.
  • Good support.
  • Good prices, starts at $4.95
  • Offers free trial

Cons:

  • Occasional accuracy issues.
  • Does not update as often as Accuranker.
  • Slightly more expensive than AccuRanker.
  • Offers fewer keywords to track than AccuRanker.

OVERVIEW:

Both services are excellent and have similar pricing plans. However, Accuranker is FREE for 20 days with an upgraded 150 keyword account. You can try it and test it out for free without having to use a credit card.

SerpBook tracks Yahoo! and Bing, but its accuracy is sometimes at issue. Its interface, however, is very pleasing and easy to read.

If youre serious about SEO, I would recommend Accuranker. If youre more casual about SEO, I would recommend SerpBook. If youre really serious, you should have both. Both services are excellent. (Do not be dissuaded by SerpBook having a few more "negatives" than AccuRanker. I personally use both services, and I still like SerpBook very much because it tracks Yahoo! and Bing.)
