The amount of money you can earn from the service depends on your sites niche and your visitors’ geographical location. Google’s AdSense program is really one of the greatest ways to make money online for people owning a website or blog, both for starters and experts. However, getting approved into the AdSense network can be a pain in the a** for some people and there are many who have become a bit confused of what it takes to get approved by AdSense. This post is created to help you understand exactly what Google wants from your website in order to approve it in to the AdSense network. You should have a menu at the top or at the side of your website. 3. Avoid broken links.
Oh how Google hates broken links. Do not apply with a website full of links leading to 404 error pages or other non existing websites. 4. Website already rejected once.
Sometimes when you buy a domain name it might already have been used by someone else. This can cause problems if the website has been previously rejected by AdSense. However, there is no need to worry about this! Just send a nice and cordial email to the AdSense explaining that the domain has a new owner and that you would like it to be re-evaluated.

5. The age of your website.
A wise man once said “old is gold”, and it is in fact true. A site with a few years on its neck will be considered reliable and not just set up over a night. Though, you do not need a website that is several years old, but a month or three will for sure make you more likely to pass the approval process.

6. A page about the website.
Simply having a page about the website named “about” or “about us” etc will make it so much easier for anyone to instantly know what your website is all about. If you also include a contact form and maybe some information such as your name, email or address the site will gain more trust and become easier to identify. While this may not affect your website enormously when applying I like to think that it makes a somewhat difference.

Common sense.
Google does allow showing non-contextual ads at the same time as the AdSense ads on a website. However having a website that is already stuffed with contextual ads before applying to AdSense might not be the smartest choice. Keep it clean and if you got ads on the website, then you might want to avoid ads that can get mixed up with the looks of the AdSense ads.

You should also keep on posting while you’re in the approval process for AdSense. It will look kind of weird if your site was just set up and 12 articles were added to it, then it quickly became inactive directly after submitted to AdSense. Also try to keep the servers up and running, how else are they going to approve your website if they can’t see it?

Last common sense tip: Having a website named something like: make-money-with-selling-toothbrushes.subdomain.example will not make your domain look reliable. It will look like a website that can’t even affort a $8 domain name and is only targeted to a very small niche that will barely be updated often. Try to get a real TLD (Top Level Domain) name before applying.

1. Your website does not need any traffic when joining the AdSense network. This is to let new website owners join the program without problems. If they were looking at the traffic a site received then it would be really hard to join.
2. PageRank does not matter either. In fact, PageRank is almost dead when it comes to SEO and rating a website. As of writing this very text the PageRank is being updated, but nowadays it’s only happening once or twice a year. However, Google does not expect new sites to get a PageRank that fast so it’s not taken in to consideration when applying.

Many people ask me about free marketing methods to increase traffic and Adsense revenue. One technique involves writing articles. Write at least one article each day and submit it to the largest twenty-five article directories. The more articles that you submit, the more success you will see. How Google detects AdSense click fraud

Google AdSense click fraud detection.
The famous AdSense network is one of the most advanced ones of its kind. It must be, because every day, people are making invalid clicks or trying to commit click fraud in order to make money from it and to cheat the system. However, it is said that you’d have a better chance of making money by picking up pennies from the street than ever trying to cheat the Google AdSense system. This article does only contain speculations on how Google detects click fraud or invalid clicks. Since I am not working for Google I can not know exactly, and I’m sure that they will never really tell anyone. So please leave a comment at the end if you think I am wrong or if you know another way that they might detect invalid clicks or click fraudsters.

How does Google detect invalid clicks in AdSense?

1. IP Address.
Google checks which IP address that the click is coming from. If it originates from the same IP address that previously logged in to the AdSense account, then you’re probably committing click fraud. If the same IP address is constantly clicking ads on a website, then it might be either invalid clicks or click fraud.

2. Cookies.
Most home users does not use static IP addresses, which means that they in some cases just have to disconnect and then reconnect in order go get a new one. However, if Google has implemented a cookie on your computer, simply getting a new IP address won’t help when you’re committing click fraud.

3. Click through rate (CTR).
A normal website does not go above a 10% CTR. It usually stays between 0.5% to 9%. If your website is getting a CTR above 10%, your website might get reviewed by an AdSense employee to check if you are doing anything against their terms. However, if you’re not breaking any terms, then you don’t have to worry.

4. GEO-location.
Kind of like IP addresses. Google knows from where the clicks are originating and will most likely see a pattern if one comes up. Let’s say you’re smart enough to use different P addresses to commit click fraud, but you’re stupid enough to place all your computers in one town. Google analytics is one tool that can give you an idea how GEO-location targeting works.

5. Your hardware address (MAC address).
Every computer has its “fingerprint” in terms of a MAC address. This address is put on your hardware instead of your software, so it never changes or goes away. It is possible that Google might track invalid click this way, but not very likely since they have more advanced ways.

6. Advertiser conversion rate.
As I mentioned in my other article on how to get out of Google AdSense smart pricing, the conversion rate of the advertisers are really important. If none of your clicks leads to a conversion, such as a sale, lead, newsletter sign-up or similar for the advertiser, then you are sending very poor traffic. At first you might get hit by smart pricing, after that you might get banned. A low conversion rate for advertisers can be the sing of click fraud or invalid clicks.

7. Traffic consistency.
If your website is bringing in bursts of traffic instead of a steady flow from search engines, then you might be in trouble. If Google detects that an unnatural amount of direct traffic is clicking on your ads then it might be marked as click fraud. If your website is not even indexed in the search engines yet but is still receiving a decent amount of clicks then something must be wrong, and AdSense is the first one to spot it.

8. Website/ads layout.
If your website is using a messed up layout that fools visitors in to clicking your ads by disguising them as regular links or similar, then you are walking on thin ice. You are not allowed to cover or edit your ads, nor are you allowed to make them blend in too well with the rest of your content. By doing so you might be generating a lot of invalid clicks from people who didn’t know that they were actually clicking an ad. You are also not allowed to encourage ad click by saying things like “all the money generated through ads goes to people in need” or “click the ads!”.

A person with the same IP address is clicking a lot of ads on one specific website, but barely clicks any ads on other websites. Pretty easy to spot.

The advantages of having your own business is that you do not have to rely on anyone else than yourself. If you’re an affiliate you constantly have to follow rules so that you don’t get banned and so on. But if you own your own website where you offer services such as WordPress installations, then you don’t have to worry about this.

The amount of money you can make by setting up your own online business is only limited to your ideas and experience. It will most likely take a while to get the whole thing rolling and generating money, but in the end it will be worth it. So if you are able to provide people with something they would like to spend money for, then this is the best option for you. Just remember to always analyze your competition so that you don’t end up in a business where you have no chance of scoring a sale.

2. Sell your own products.

This is a great way to make money online if you have a good camera. I have never tried it myself but I have seen plenty of people generating a good residual income. You will most likely not make more then a few cents or dimes from each picture, but since there are millions of bloggers and website owners out there looking for pictures the possibilities are endless. People need pictures to fill their websites with, so if you’re good at taking pictures and know how to market your work then this might become a goldmine for you. And you know what the best part of this is? Well, the more pictures you take, the more money you will make.
